Assisted LIVING
At The Virginian, we know security and peace of mind can depend on getting help when needed without compromising independence. In Assisted Living, care is designed specifically for residents who need a helping hand with day-to-day needs such as bathing, dressing, managing medications and medical care. Our environment of support and understanding encourages residents to remain independent and active.
Individuals from the community may also come to The Virginian for short-term stays. Individuals stay in a completely furnished studio apartment and receive all the amenities and services offered in Assisted Living. Apartment Features and Services Include:
- Our apartments feature comfortable, spacious living quarters with kitchenettes and most come with walk-in closets
- All apartments come with walk-in showers with grab bars, wall-to-wall carpeting, individually controlled thermostats, and large picture windows with a scenic view
- Three delicious meals and snacks served daily in one of three assisted living dining rooms
- Daily housekeeping service to include bed making, dusting, vacuuming, and general cleaning, as needed
- Assistance with medication administration daily by Certified Nursing Assistants trained in medication administration
- Assistance with bathing (twice weekly) and dressing as needed.
- All utilities, with the exception of telephone
- 41 cable channels at no additional cost
- Complimentary laundry rooms conveniently located in each wing
- Emergency Call System with 24-hour on-site nurse response
- Fire Life Safety System with sprinklers in each room
Additional services, such as laundry and functional maintenance program, are offered on a fee-for-service basis.
At the time of admission to Assisted Living, prospective residents may require assistance with a maximum of three Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), included in the monthly fee: medication administration, bathing, and dressing. After admission into Assisted Living, assistance with a fourth ADL may be provided with approval from the Assisted Living Coordinator for an additional fee. Residents in Assisted Living must be able to transfer independently.
