Nursing Care
The Virginian offers Nursing Care Services on a permanent or temporary basis. Nursing services are provided on a 24-hour basis by registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs). The Virginian’s Medical Director, a board-certified Internist, serves to coordinate medical care in the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services are tailored to the individual resident’s needs, and when multiple therapies are required, interdisciplinary teams coordinate to ensure continuity and compatibility of care.
The following services are included in the fee:
- Medication administration
- Bathing (twice weekly)
- Dressing
- Three delicious meals per physician’s order and unlimited snacks
- All activities
- Social Services staff available to assist residents in a variety of ways
- Daily housekeeping
- Linens provided daily
- Coordination with physicians and medical services — all appointments made
- Assistance with arranging transportation (resident responsible for transportation fee in some cases)
- Regularly scheduled care conferences with the interdisciplinary team
- Transportation within building to activities, hairdresser, etc.
Should assistance be required for services such as hand-feeding, oxygen, incontinency care, isolation, and/or extensive wound care, an additional daily charge for each service will apply. A list of additional service fees will be provided.
